How to Get Your Russian Family/Dependent Visa

If you want to go to the Russian Federation to see family or friends, you need a private passport. Private visas can be good for as long as 90 days and can be given for one or two entries. The dates your visa is good for will match the dates on your private request from family or friends in Russia.

Required papers: a current passport with at least two blank pages (they don't have to be next to each other) and a validity of at least six months after the visa expires.

The visa application form was filled out and printed from the website https://e-immigration.ru/. Please make sure that the dates you put on the application form for when you enter and leave match with or fall within the dates in the supporting papers.

Glue a recent passport-sized picture to the right spot on the application form.

The invite was first sent out by the Russian Foreign Ministry, one of its regional offices, or the Russian Federation Migration Service.

If someone needs to go to Russia for medical reasons, to visit someone who is very sick or has died, or to get treatment, they need to show either a certificate from a medical institution or a death certificate along with proof of their relationship to the sick or deceased person. Papers that show how the people are related to each other are copies of papers from government offices. If the person is a grandma or grandchild, they need to turn in proof of their relationship, like a certificate, from the registrar's office.

Health insurance that covers at least €30,000 and is good in Russia.
