How to Get Your Russia Individual Immigration
Individual immigration to Russia is the legal way for a foreign citizen to travel to Russia to work, study, be with family, or live there for a long time. Individual immigration is different from corporate immigration since it is done by the person themselves and must follow Russian immigration regulations.
Who Can Apply?
Individual immigration is open to people from other countries who desire to live, work, study, or join family members in Russia. This includes:
Professionals with skills looking for work
Students who want to go to Russian colleges
Family relatives of people who live in or are citizens of Russia
People who want to start a business in Russia or investors
Different Types of Immigration for Individuals
Temporary Residence Permit (TRP) - For those from other countries who want to stay for longer than 90 days. TRP holders must register with the Federal Migration Service (FMS) and may require a work permit to work lawfully. TRPs are usually good for three years.
Residence Permit (PR): Gives anyone who have resided in Russia on a TRP for at least a year permanent status. People with PR can live and work without getting any other permissions.
Highly Qualified Specialist (HQS) Visa: This visa speeds up the process for talented professionals to move to Russia with their families and work there.
Long-Term Work or Study Visa: This type of visa is for working or studying and is frequently linked to a job offer or enrollment in a school.
Documents Needed
Passport that is still good
Forms for applying for a visa or permission

Health insurance that works in Russia
HIV test certificate (needed for some long-term stays)
Proof of housing
Following the law and registering
Everyone must sign up with the FMS within seven business days of arriving. You may need to certify your residence every year to keep your legal status. If you don't follow the rules, you might be fined, deported, or lose your rights.

Getting access healthcare and other public services

PR and HQS holders can travel in and out of Russia without needing any further visas.
Extensions and getting citizenship
If all the legal requirements are satisfied, temporary permits and visas can often be renewed. Long-term residents may ultimately be able to seek for permanent residency or Russian citizenship. To do this, they must show that they can speak Russian and know about Russian culture.
